"The Journey Goes On"

April 05, 2010

TEXT: Matthew 28:19-20 - Jesus said, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

We began the journey from the Mount of Transfiguration to Mount Calvary with Jesus at the beginning of Lent. The journey took us many different places. We saw that what He had predicted came true. He did what He had to do. He came to Mount Calvary and rescued us all from sin, from death, and from the power of the devil. And then, in the power of the resurrection, His journey continues-forever!

Our journey also continues! It goes beyond Mount Calvary. We continue the journey by everything we say, and by what we do. He joins us on this lifelong journey by sending us His Holy Spirit. We are joyfully on this journey until we draw our last breath.

The journey does finally end when we draw our first breath in eternity. It is then when we will join with the angels, archangels, and all the host of heaven in praising our Savior, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

THE PRAYER: Bless us, Jesus, as we continue our journey until the end of the age! Amen.
