Easter Monday
It would be wrong to think that everyone who reads this devotional will see another Easter. No person knows the time or hour of departure from this world. In my research to find stories for this booklet, I came across one that I couldn't use, but it wouldn't go away. So, accept this last story as an extra gift. It was mid-October, and the trees along the highway were in brilliant golds and reds. At a turnoff, a mother and daughter stood in awe. "Isn't God gracious to make something so beautiful right before it sleeps?" the daughter asked. Mom replied with a sigh, "Wouldn't it be nice if He did that with people?" The younger woman looked at her white-haired Christian mother and quietly said to herself, "Sometimes He does."
On this Monday after Easter, when life is returning to its customary pace, let us live in joy to the glory of our uncustomary Savior and His uncustomary love. Let us live so that those around us will see the beauty of Jesus in our lives before we sleep.
Prayerful Practice: Lord Jesus, You have given me Yourself; let me give myself to You and others in thanksgiving. Amen.
